NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY
NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY:-
National science day.
'Our one scientific invention can change the world forever!
National science is celebrated every year in India on 28th February. We celebrate science day to celebrate the discovery of 'Raman effect'.
Greatest scientist sir C.V. Raman was born on 7th November 1888 at tiruchirapalli.
In 28th February 1928 renowned physicist sir c.v. Raman discovered phenomenon in spectroscopy this known as 'Raman effect'.
Raman effect- a change of wavelength exhibited by some of the radiation scattered in a medium. The effect is specific to the molecules which cause it, and so can be used in spectroscopic analysis
For their great achievement he was awarded Nobel prize in 1930.
On 28th February every year we celebrate science day to commemorate the discovery of the 'Raman Effect'.
The day is celebrated to recognize the importance of science and its role in human life, and to promote scientific temper and the spirit of inquiry in the country. The theme of National Science Day changes every year, with the aim of highlighting various aspects of science and technology and their impact on society.
The day is celebrated in various institutions across the country, including schools, colleges, research institutes, and scientific organizations. Many events such as science exhibitions, lectures, quizzes, debates, and seminars are organized to promote science education and research.
The National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) is responsible for coordinating the celebrations of National Science Day in India. The council was established in 1982 to promote and popularize science and technology communication among the masses.
IMPORTANCE TO CELEBRATE SCIENCE DAY-:
1.Promoting scientific temper: Science is an essential tool for understanding and addressing the challenges facing society.
2.Recognizing scientific achievements: National Science Day is an opportunity to recognize the significant contributions of Indian scientists and their impact on the global scientific community.
3.Promoting science education: National Science Day celebrations provide an opportunity to showcase scientific experiments, research, and inventions to students, teachers, and the general public.
