HOLY: THE FESTIVAL OF COLOURS
Holi is known as the festival of colours. It is most famous festival in India. Holi is celebrated across all over the India.
Holi is a popular Hindu festival that is celebrated in India and some other parts of the world. It usually falls in late February or early March and is also known as the "Festival of Colors" or the "Festival of Love".
Why do we celebrate Holi?
People celebrate holi in arival of spring. and also is seen as a new beginning where people can release all their nagative and start fresh. During Holi in Hindi people say 'BURA NA MANO HOLI HAI'. Holi is known as joyful and colourful festival.
Story of HOLIKA:
In ancient time there was a king Hiranyakashyap. He believed that he was more Powerful than god's. He wants that every people do him worship. But his son Pralhad he didn't do worship of his father. Instead he doing worship of lord Vishnu. After knowing this made Hiranyakashyap angry. He decided to harm to his own son. He tried all sorts of method. But he was fail in that.
Later on his asked her sister Holika to kill pralhad. Fire doesn't affect on Holika. So she had decided to use her power to kill pralhad. She put bhakt Pralhad on her lap and sat at middle of bonfire. She thinked that pralhad may kill in fire while she remains safe.
But Lord Vishnu dont like her intention and Holika burn in that fire while pralhad remained safe. This known as victory of good over evil.
Since that time Holi was started.
The festival has a religious significance as well. According to Hindu mythology, Holi commemorates the victory of the god Vishnu over the demon Holika. It is also associated with the love story of Radha and Krishna.
Apart from playing with colors, people also offer prayers to their deities, exchange sweets and snacks, and visit their friends and family. In some parts of India, Holi is also celebrated with traditional folk songs and dances.
Overall, Holi is a joyous and colorful festival that brings people together, regardless of their caste, creed, or religion.
